The “label” was founded by Kelly John-Charles in 2004 and released
its first 7" Instrumental Single “An African Chant” in 2005.
The label signed its first artist Nyanjah Tafari“ in 2006, and in 2008 released two 7”singles, “Reparation” and “When the Love Comes”.
The Alkamist record label has since signed 3 more acts Kurt Leacock, Kojo Rigault and Hip-hop artist from “USA,” Tightest (Brian Yarborough).
